Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

CONSIDER the bright morning hours, 1 and by the night when it darkens, 2 Thy Sustainer has not forsaken thee, nor does He scorn thee: 3 and the Hereafter will indeed be better for you than the present life; 4 And presently thy Lord shall give unto thee so that thou shalt be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find you an orphan and give you shelter? 6 Did He not find you perplexed, and show you the way? 7 And did He not find you in need and make you rich? 8 Do not oppress the orphan, 9 And as for him who asks, do not chide (him), 10 And abundantly proclaim the favours of your Lord. 11

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
