Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

By the forenoon (after sun-rise); 1 and by the night when it covers, 2 Thy Sustainer has not forsaken thee, nor does He scorn thee: 3 for, indeed, the life to come will be better for thee than this earlier part [of thy life]! 4 Your Lord will soon grant you sufficient favors to please you. 5 Has He not found thee an orphan, and given thee shelter? 6 And He found you lost and guided [you], 7 Did He not find you in want, and make you free from want? 8 Therefore, the orphan shalt thou never wrong, 9 And do not drive the beggar away, 10 and proclaim the bounty of your Lord. 11

True are the words of God the Almighty.
