The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Proclaim! (or read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created- 1 created man from a clot [of blood]. 2 Read, and your Lord only is the Most Beneficent, 3 The One Who taught to write with the pen. 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Yes indeed, man is surely rebellious. 6 For he thinks he is sufficient in himself. 7 truly, all will return to your Lord. 8 Hast thou seen him who dissuadeth 9 A servant when he prays? 10 Have you seen if he was upon guidance 11 Or enjoins righteousness? 12 Did you consider: what if he gives the lie (to the Truth) and turns away (from it)? 13 Does he not know that God sees? 14 No indeed; if he does not desist, We shall drag him by the forelock; 15 By the lying, the sinful forelock. 16 and then let him summon [to his aid] the counsels of his own [spurious] wisdom, 17 We too shall summon the guards of Hell. 18 Yes indeed; do not listen to him – and prostrate, and become close to Us. (Command of Prostration # 14) ۩ 19
Almighty God's Truth.
