The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Read with the name of your Lord Who created, 1 created Man of a blood-clot. 2 Recite: and your Lord is Most Generous, 3 Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)]. 4 Taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, 6 for he believes himself to be self-sufficient. 7 Surely! Unto your Lord is the return. 8 What thinkest thou? He who forbids 9 a servant when he prays -- 10 Have you seen if he was upon guidance 11 Or enjoins righteousness? 12 Seest thou if he denies (Truth) and turns away? 13 Did he not realise that Allah is watching? 14 And yet indeed if he does not desist We shall drag him by the forelock, 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 So let him call his associates, 17 We too would summon the braves of the army. 18 No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allah]. ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
