The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

WOE TO EVERY slanderer, back-biter, 1 Who amasses wealth and hordes it. 2 Does he think his wealth will abide for ever with him? 3 By no means! He shall surely be cast into the crushing torment. 4 And what have you understood what the Crushing One is! 5 It is the Fire kindled by Allah, 6 Which mounts directed at the hearts. 7 Verily it will close in upon them, 8 In extending columns. 9
