O you who have believed, do not consume usury, doubled and multiplied, but fear Allah that you may be successful. 130 And beware of the Fire gotten ready for the infidels. 131 And pay heed unto God and the Apostle, so that you might be graced with mercy. 132 ۞ And vie one with another for forgiveness from your Lord, and for a paradise as wide as are the heavens and the earth, prepared for those who ward off (evil); 133 for those who spend, both in prosperity and adversity, who restrain their anger and are forgiving towards their fellow men -- God loves those who do good works. 134 And who, when they have committed an indecency or have wronged their souls, remember God and pray that their sins be forgiven, (for who but God can forgive sins?) and do not knowingly persist in their misdeeds, 135 These it is who shall have as their reward forgiveness from their Sustainer, and gardens through which running waters flow, therein to abide: and how excellent a reward for those who labour! 136 Indeed there have been examples before you; therefore travel in the earth and see what was the end of the rejecters. 137 This is an exposition for mankind, and a guidance, and an admonition for such as are godfearing. 138 Be not, then, faint of heart, and grieve not: for you are bound to rise high if you are [truly] believers. 139 If there hath befallen you a sore, a sore like thereunto hath already befallen that people. These are the haps that We change about among mankind, that Allah may know those who believe and may take martyrs from among you; and Allah loveth not the wrong doers. 140 and that God might render pure of all dross those who have attained to faith, and bring to nought those who deny the truth. 141 Did you think that you could go to Paradise before God knew which of you fought for His cause and which of you bore patience? 142 And assuredly ye were wont to long for death ere ye had met it. Now ye are beholding it even while ye are looking on. 143
