Cursed were those who disbelieved from among the Children of Isra'il by the tongue of Daud and 'Isa, son of Maryam. That is because they disobeyed and were ever transgressing. 78 they would not prevent one another from doing the wrong things they did. Evil indeed were their deeds. 79 You can see among them many allying themselves with the infidels. Vile it was what they sent ahead of them, so that God's indignation came upon them; and torment will they suffer an eternity. 80 And had they believed in Allah and the prophet and what was revealed to him, they would not have taken them for friends but! most of them are transgressors. 81 ۞ You will find that the bitterest in their enmity to the faithful are the Jews and the polytheists; the nearest in affection to them are those who say, "We are Christians." That is because there are priests and monks among them; and because they are free from pride. 82 When they listen to what has been sent down to the Messenger, you see their eyes overflowing with tears, because of the Truth they recognize. They say, "Our Lord, we believe, so count us among those who bear witness. 83 Why should we not believe in God and the Truth that has come to us and hope that the Lord will admit us into the company of the righteous people?" 84 So because of what they said, Allah rewarded them Gardens under which rivers flow (in Paradise), they will abide therein forever. Such is the reward of good-doers. 85 But those who reject Faith and belie our Signs,- they shall be companions of Hell-fire. 86
