Therefore, remind. By the Favor of Allah, you are neither a soothsayer, nor mad. 29 Or say they: a poet for whom we wait some adverse turn of fortune! 30 Say thou: "Await ye!- I too will wait along with you!" 31 Do their minds prompt them to say such things, or are they a people immersed in transgression?” 32 Or say they: he hath fabricated it: aye they will not believe. 33 Then let them bring an announcement like it if they are truthful. 34 Or, were they created out of nothing? Or, were they their own creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Rather, they are not certain. 36 Do they own the treasures of your Lord, or have they been given charge of them? 37 Or have they a ladder, by which they can (climb up to heaven and) listen (to its secrets)? Then let (such a) listener of theirs produce a manifest proof. 38 Or, has He daughters, and they sons? 39 Or do you demand any wages from them so that they are burdened with expense? 40 Or have they the unseen so that they write (it) down? 41 Or do they desire a war? But those who disbelieve shall be the vanquished ones in war. 42 Do they have any god other than Allah? Exalted be Allah above whatever they associate (with Him in His Divinity). 43 And were they to see a portion of the sky falling, they will say, “It is a heap of clouds.” 44 So leave them alone until they encounter that Day of theirs, wherein they shall (perforce) swoon (with terror),- 45 the Day when none of their scheming will be of the least avail to them, and they will receive no succour. 46 And indeed for the unjust is another punishment before this, but most of them do not know. (Punishment in the grave is proven by this verse.) 47 And wait patiently for the judgment of your Lord, for surely you are before Our eyes, and sing the praise of your Lord when you rise; 48 And in the night-time also hymn His praise, and at the setting of the stars. 49
