And if they deny you, [O Muhammad], then say, "For me are my deeds, and for you are your deeds. You are disassociated from what I do, and I am disassociated from what you do." 41 And among them are some who listen to you; so will you make the deaf hear even if they do not have any sense? 42 Some of them look to you. But can you guide the blind, even though they do not see? 43 Surely God wrongs not men anything, but themselves men wrong. 44 One day He will gather them together: (It will be) as if they had tarried but an hour of a day: they will recognise each other: assuredly those will be lost who denied the meeting with Allah and refused to receive true guidance. 45 And whether We shew thee some of that which We have promised them, or We cause thee to die, unto us is their return, and Allah is witness of that which they do. 46 Every nation has its Messenger; then, when their Messenger comes, justly the issue is decided between them, and they are not wronged. 47 They say: "When is this promise going to come, if what you say is true?" 48 Say, "I have no control over any harm or benefit to myself, except by the will of God. For every people, however, there is an appointed term. When the end of their term arrives, they cannot postpone it for an hour, nor can they advance it." 49 Ask them, "What benefit can criminals get from their demand that God must punish them immediately if His words are true?" Whether His punishment befalls them during the day or night (they will not be able to escape). 50 Is it then, that when it has actually befallen, that you will believe in it? What! Now (you believe)? And you used (aforetime) to hasten it on!" 51 Then it will be said to the evildoers: 'Taste the chastisement of eternity! Are you recompensed for aught but that you have been earning?' 52 They ask you to tell them if it is true. Say: 'Yes, by my Lord! It is true, and you cannot frustrate it' 53
