Nay, by the Moon 32 And the night when it withdraweth 33 And the daybreak when it shines; 34 surely it is one of the greatest things 35 as a warner to mortals. 36 A warning unto him of you who shall go forward or who chooseth to lag behind. 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 save the People of the Right Hand 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 Of evil-doers: 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 And we used not to feed the poor; 44 We indulged and persisted in useless disputes, 45 and we cried lies to the Day of Doom, 46 Till death overtook us. 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 WHAT, THEN, is amiss with them that they turn away from all admonition 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 In fact every one of them wants to be given open books (like the prophets). 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 And what advice will they heed, except if Allah wills?
