Have you not considered your Lord - how He extends the shadow, and if He willed, He could have made it stationary? Then We made the sun for it an indication. 45 Then We draw it in towards Ourselves,- a contraction by easy stages. 46 And it is He who has made the night for you as clothing and sleep [a means for] rest and has made the day a resurrection. 47 It is He who loosens the winds, bearing glad tidings before the Hands of His Mercy, and We have sent down pure water from the heaven, 48 so that We might revive a dead land, and give to drink of it, of that We created, cattle and men a many. 49 And indeed, many times have We repeated [all] this unto men, so that they might take it to heart: but most men refuse to be aught but ingrate. 50 Had it been Our Will, We could have sent a warner to every centre of population. 51 Se obey not thou the infidels, but strive against them therewith with a great striving. 52 ۞ It was He who let forth the two seas, this one is palatably sweet and this salt, a bitter taste, and He set a barrier between them, and a refuge which is forbidden. 53 And it is He Who created man from water, then appointed relatives and in-laws for him; and your Lord is All Able. 54 And yet they worship besides God what cannot bring them gain or do them harm. The unbeliever has always been an auxiliary against his Lord. 55 We have sent thee not, except good tidings to bear, and warning. 56 Say thou: I ask of you no hire for this, save that whosoever will may take unto his Lord a way. 57 And trust thou in the Living One Who dieth not, and hymn His praise. He sufficeth as the Knower of His bondmen's sins, 58 It is He who created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them in six days and then He established His domination over the Throne. He is the Beneficent God. Refer to Him as the final authority. 59 When they are told, "Prostrate yourselves before the Gracious One," they ask, "Who is this Gracious One? Shall we prostrate ourselves before whatever you will?" This increases their aversion. ۩ 60
