The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the Mount Sinai, 1 and the Book inscribed 2 in an exposed parchment 3 And by the Bait-ul-Ma'mur (the house over the heavens parable to the Ka'bah at Makkah, continuously visited by the angels); 4 And the roof exalted, 5 and by the swelling ocean, 6 Verily, the Torment of your Lord will surely come to pass, 7 there is none to prevent it. 8 [It will come to pass] on the Day when the skies will be convulsed in [a great] convulsion, 9 And the mountains will move with a visible movement. 10 On that Day woe to those who belied 11 Those who in wading sport themselves. 12 The Day when they will be pushed down by force to the Fire of Hell, with a horrible, forceful pushing. 13 "This is the Fire which you used to deny. 14 What, is this magic, or is it you that do not see? 15 [Enter to] burn therein; then be patient or impatient - it is all the same for you. You are only being recompensed [for] what you used to do." 16 Surely the God-fearing shall be in Gardens and bliss, 17 Delighted at the bestowal of their Lord; and their Lord has saved them from the fire. 18 “Eat and drink with pleasure, a reward for what you used to do.” 19 reclining on couches [of happiness] ranged in rows!" And [in that paradise] We shall mate them with companions pure, most beautiful of eye. 20 The offspring of the believers will also follow them to Paradise. So shall We join their offspring to them because of their faith. We shall reduce nothing from their deeds. Everyone will be responsible for his own actions. 21 We shall give them fruits and meats, and what they desire. 22 They will therein snatch from one another a cup; therein will be neither vain babble nor sin. 23 ۞ And young attendants like pearls within their shells, will go round. 24 And they will advance unto each other asking questions. 25 Saying: "Aforetime, we were afraid with our families (from the punishment of Allah). 26 “So Allah did us a great favour, and saved us from the punishment of the flame.” 27 we were before ever calling upon Him; surely He is the All-benign, the All-compassionate.' 28
