And the dwellers in Al-Hijr denied (Our) messengers. 80 And we gave them Our revelations, but they were averse to them. 81 And they used to hew out dwellings from the mountains (feeling themselves) secure. 82 So the scream overcame them at morning. 83 Therefore their earnings did not in the least benefit them. 84 And We have not created the heavens and earth and that between them except in truth. And indeed, the Hour is coming; so forgive with gracious forgiveness. 85 For verily it is thy Lord who is the Master-Creator, knowing all things. 86 AND, INDEED, We have bestowed upon thee seven of the oft repeated [verses,] and [have, thus, laid open before thee] this sublime Qur'an: 87 Cast not thine eyes toward that which We have let classes of them to enjoy; and grieve not over them, and lower thy wing unto the believers. 88 and say, "I am, indeed, a plain warner," 89 Like as We sent down on the dividers 90 Those who have made the scripture bits. 91 Now by thy Lord, We shall surely question them all together 92 For that which they have been working. 93 So shout that thou art commanded and turn thou away from the idolaters. 94 Lo! We defend thee from the scoffers, 95 Who set up along with Allah another ilah (god), they will come to know. 96 We do indeed know how thy heart is distressed at what they say. 97 So exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord and be of those who prostrate [to Him]. 98 And serve thy Lord till the Inevitable cometh unto thee. 99
