50 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah) before Q (Qaaf)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 storming tempestuously 2 and raise (clouds) and scatter them around, 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 Verily that which ye are promised is about to befall. 7 So when the stars are obliterated 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are made into dust and blown away. 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 For what day is it timed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 which We then placed in a secure repository 21 for an appointed time? 22 Thus did We Plan and how excellent is Our planning! 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 “Move towards the shadow of the smoke having three branches.” 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 if you have a trick, try you now to trick Me!' 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
