Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ BLESSED BE HE who holds the (reins of) Kingship in His hand, who has power over everything, 1 [He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed - and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving - 2 who created seven heavens one upon another. Thou seest not in the creation of the All-merciful any imperfection. Return thy gaze; seest thou any fissure? 3 Then return [your] vision twice again. [Your] vision will return to you humbled while it is fatigued. 4 And assuredly We have bedecked the nearest heaven with lamps, and We have made them missiles for satans: and for them We have gotten ready the torment of the Blaze. 5 And for those who disbelieve in their Lord there awaits the punishment of Gehenna (Hell) an evil arrival! 6 When they are flung therein they hear its roaring as it boileth up, 7 as though bursting with rage. Each time a group is cast into it, its keepers will ask them, "Did no warner come to you?" 8 They will say: "Yes indeed; a warner did come to us, but we belied him and said: 'Allah never sent down anything (of revelation), you are only in great error.'" 9 They will say, "If we had only listened or understood, we should not now be among the inmates of Hell," 10 and thus they will confess their sin; far from God's mercy are the inmates of Hell. 11 Those who fear their Lord in secret will receive forgiveness and a great reward. 12 (Whether you) speak in secret or aloud, He knows the innermost of the chests. 13 Would He not know, He Who has created, when He is All-Subtle, All-Aware? 14
