Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Say: It has been revealed to me that a company of Jinns listened (to the Qur'an). They said, 'We have really heard a wonderful Recital! 1 It guides to the right course, and we have believed in it. And we will never associate with our Lord anyone. 2 'And Exalted is the Majesty of our Lord: He has taken neither a wife nor a son. 3 and that “the foolish among us have been wont to say outrageous things about Allah”; 4 and that “we had thought that men and jinn would never speak a lie about Allah”, 5 But there were certain men of mankind who would take refuge with certain men of the jinn, and they increased them in vileness, 6 Those people thought, like you, that God would never send down a Messenger. 7 And we stretched towards heaven, but we found it filled with terrible guards and meteors. 8 We used to sit near by and try to listen to the heavens, but shooting flames now await those who try to do that. 9 'And we understand not whether ill is intended to those on earth, or whether their Lord (really) intends to guide them to right conduct. 10 'There are among us some that are righteous, and some the contrary: we follow divergent paths. 11 And that we know that we cannot escape Allah in the earth, nor can we escape Him by flight: 12 And when we heard the guidance, we believed therein, and whoso believeth in his Lord, he feareth neither loss nor oppression. 13 And there are among us some who have surrendered (to Allah) and there are among us some who are unjust. And whoso hath surrendered to Allah, such have taken the right path purposefully. 14 However, the deviators from the Truth will be the fuel for hell". 15 And had they kept to the path surely We would have watered them with rain plenteous. 16 That We might try them there by. And whosoever turneth aside from the remembrance of his Lord, him He shall thrust into a torment vehement. 17 And [He revealed] that the masjids are for Allah, so do not invoke with Allah anyone. 18 And that when the servant of Allah stood up calling upon Him, they wellnigh crowded him (to death). 19
