The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 The piercing star! 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 it is not a jest. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 Let, then, the deniers of the truth have their will: let them have their will for a little while. 17
