Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 Who gives but little, and is niggardly? 34 Hath he knowledge of the Unseen so that he seeth? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 And that his effort will be seen. 40 Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete; 41 And that to your Lord is the goal- 42 And that it is He Who causeth to laugh and causeth to weep. 43 And that it is He Who causeth to die and causeth to live. 44 And that it is He Who has created the two pairs, male and female? 45 From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth; 46 And that [incumbent] upon Him is the next creation 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that it is He Who earlier destroyed the tribe of Aad? 50 and Thamud tribes, 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 And He brought perdition upon the subverted cities 53 So there covered them that which covered. 54 Which of your Lord's benefits will you then dispute about? 55 This is a (Prophet) like that of the ancient warners (Prophets). 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 Then at this statement do you wonder? 59 And keep laughing and do not weep, 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 Therefore prostrate for Allah, and worship Him. (Command of Prostration # 12) ۩ 62
