Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 Does man (a disbeliever) think that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 Nay, but man desires to continue on as a libertine, 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 But when the sight is dazed 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 On that Day man will say: "Where (is the refuge) to flee?" 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 Some faces on that Day will be fresh and resplendent, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 (the angels of mercy or the angels of wrath,)" then, he will realize that it is time to leave this world. 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 On that day, the herding will be only towards your Lord. 30
