We (once) sent Noah to his people, and he tarried among them a thousand years less fifty: but the Deluge overwhelmed them while they (persisted in) sin. 14 So We delivered him and the inmates of the ark, and made it a sign to the nations. 15 Abraham told his people, "Worship God and have fear of Him. It is better for you if only you knew it. 16 "For ye do worship idols besides Allah, and ye invent falsehood. The things that ye worship besides Allah have no power to give you sustenance: then seek ye sustenance from Allah, serve Him, and be grateful to Him: to Him will be your return. 17 If you belie me, other nations before you also belied. It is only for a Messenger to deliver the clear deliverance. 18 See they not how Allah produceth creation, then reproduceth it? Lo! for Allah that is easy. 19 Say: "Travel through the earth and see how Allah did originate creation; so will Allah produce a later creation: for Allah has power over all things. 20 He causes to suffer whomever He wills, and bestows His mercy on whomever He wills; and unto Him you shall be made to return: 21 You cannot challenge God in the heavens or in the earth. No one besides God is your guardian or helper. 22
