The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL THE night to witness when it covers over, 1 And the day when it shines in all its glory, 2 And [by] He who created the male and female, 3 your striving is indeed to different ends! 4 As for he who gives and fears Allah 5 and believes in the finest, 6 So We will very soon provide him ease. 7 But as for him who is niggardly, and thinks that he is self-sufficient, 8 and have no faith in receiving any reward (from God). 9 For him We shall ease the way of adversity, 10 And what will his wealth avail him when he falls? 11 Surely Ours is it to show the way, 12 and to Us belong the Next Life and the present. 13 So, I warn you of the blazing Fire. 14 whereat none but the most wretched shall be roasted, 15 The one who denied and turned away. 16 and from which the most godfearing shall be removed, 17 Who giveth away his substance that he may be cleansed, 18 And have in their minds no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 except the pleasure of their Lord, the Most High 20 And he shall soon be well-pleased. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
