Al-A 'araaf 12 of 24
Never have We sent a Prophet to a place without trying its people with adversity and hardship that they may humble themselves. 94 But when We changed hardship to ease, and they rose and prospered, (they forgot Our favours) and said: "Our ancestors had also known suffering and joy." So We caught them unawares. 95 Had the people of those towns believed in and feared God, We would have showered upon them blessings from heaven and earth, but they rejected the truth. So We seized them on account of their misdeeds. 96 Do the people of those towns feel secure that Our punishment will not come to them at night while they are asleep? 97 Or, did the people of the towns then feel secure against the coming of Our Punishment in the forenoon while they play? 98 Did they consider themselves secure from the retribution of God? No one can have such attitude except those who are lost. 99
