Highly blessed is He, Who has made fortified spheres in the heavens and has set in it a "lamp" and a shining moon. 61 He it is Who caused the night and the day to succeed each other so that everyone who desires may learn a lesson or become grateful. 62 The (true) servants of the Merciful are those who walk humbly on the earth who, when the ignorant people behave insolently towards them, say, "Peace to you" 63 and those who spend the night prostrating themselves, and standing before their Lord, 64 who say, 'Our Lord, turn Thou from us the chastisement of Gehenna; surely its chastisement is torment most terrible; 65 Verily ill it is as an abode and as a station. 66 And those, who, when they spend, are neither extravagant nor niggardly, but hold a medium (way) between those (extremes). 67 And those who call not unto other god along with Allah and slay not any soul which Allah hath forbidden, save in justification, and commit not fornication. And whosoever shall do this, shall incur the meed. 68 The punishment shall be doubled to him on the day of resurrection, and he shall abide therein in abasement; 69 Excepted, however, shall be they who repent and attain to faith and do righteous deeds: for it is they whose [erstwhile] bad deeds God will transform into good ones - seeing that God is indeed much-forgiving, a dispenser of grace, 70 And whoever repents and does good, he surely turns to Allah a (goodly) turning. 71 And those who do not bear false witness, and when they pass by frivolity, they pass by with dignity; 72 who, when they are reminded of the signs of their Lord, fall not down thereat deaf and blind; 73 who say, "Lord, grant us joy in our wives and children and make us a model for the righteous." 74 Those shall be recompensed with the highest rank for their patience. There they shall receive a greeting, and peace! 75 Abiding therein; excellent it is as an abode, and as a place to dwell. 76 Say: 'My Lord esteems you not at all were it not for your prayer, for you have cried lies, and it shall surely be fastened.' 77
