Samood rejected the warning. 23 They said, "Should we follow only one person among us. We shall be clearly in error and in trouble (if we do so). 24 Hath the remembrance been given unto him alone among us? Nay, but he is a rash liar. 25 "Tomorrow they will know who is the impudent liar! 26 “We shall send a she-camel to test them, therefore O Saleh, wait and have patience.” 27 Tell them that each one of them has the right to have a certain share of water". 28 They called together their companions and agreed to slay the she-camel. 29 How (great) was then My punishment and My warning! 30 Behold, We let loose upon them one single blast [of Our punishment,] and they became like the dried-up, crumbling twigs of a sheepfold. 31 Easy have We made the Qur'an to understand: So is there any one who will be warned? 32 The people of Lot rejected Our warning. 33 Lo! We sent a storm of stones upon them (all) save the family of Lot, whom We rescued in the last watch of the night, 34 as a favour from Us. Thus do We reward those who give thanks. 35 And (Lut) did warn them of Our Punishment, but they disputed about the Warning. 36 And they even sought to snatch away his guests from him, but We blinded their eyes. (They heard:) "Now taste ye My Wrath and My Warning." 37 And indeed, the everlasting punishment overcame them early in the morning. 38 So taste My punishment and warning. 39 Surely We have made this Qur'an easy as a reminder. Is there, then, any who will take heed? 40
