He Frowned ('Abasa)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ (The Prophet) frowned and turned away, 1 Because there came to him the blind man (interrupting). 2 How canst thou know, whether haply he might be cleansed, 3 Or that he may accept advice, so the advice may benefit him. 4 As for he who is sufficed 5 So you are after him! 6 What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). 7 But as to him who came to thee striving earnestly, 8 And he fears, 9 him didst thou disregard! 10 By no means! Verily it is an admonition. 11 So let whosoever will pay heed to it, 12 upon highly honored pages, 13 lofty and pure, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 Noble and pious. 16 Cursed is man; how disbelieving is he. 17 Out of what did Allah create him? 18 From a drop of liquid; He created him and then set several measures for him. 19 He makes his path easy for him. 20 Then causeth him to die, and burieth him; 21 Then when He wills, He will resurrect him. 22 Nay; but he has not done what He bade him. 23 Then let man look to his food, 24 [how it is] that We pour down water, pouring it down abundantly; 25 and then We cleaved the earth asunder. 26 We make the grain grow out of it, 27 and vines, and reeds, 28 and olives and palms, 29 and burgeoning enclosed gardens 30 and fruit and pastures, 31 Provision for you and your cattle. 32 But, when the Blast comes, 33 on that Day a man shall flee from his own brother, 34 And from his mother and father, 35 And from his wife and his children. 36 Each one of them, that Day, will have enough concern (of his own) to make him indifferent to the others. 37 (Many) faces on that day shall be bright, 38 laughing, and rejoicing, 39 And many a face will be covered with dust on that day. 40 Dust shall cover them 41 It is they, the disbelievers, the sinners. 42
