Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 - The piercing Star! 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 And it is not amusement. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
