And remember when Ibrahim prayed, “O my Lord! Make this town (Mecca) a safe one, and safeguard me and my sons from worshipping idols.” 35 My Lord, they have led so many men astray! Anyone who follows me is with me, but if anyone turns against me, You are surely forgiving and merciful. 36 Our Lord, I have settled some of my descendants in an uncultivated valley near Your sacred House, our Lord, that they may establish prayer. So make hearts among the people incline toward them and provide for them from the fruits that they might be grateful. 37 Our Lord, Thou knowest what we keep secret and what we publish; from God nothing whatever is hidden in earth and heaven. 38 "Praise be to Allah, Who hath granted unto me in old age Isma'il and Isaac: for truly my Lord is He, the Hearer of Prayer! 39 Lord, make me and my offspring steadfast in prayer and accept our worship. 40 Our Lord, forgive Thou me and my parents, and the believers, upon the day when the reckoning shall come to pass. 41
