Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Ruin is for every open slanderer, backbiter. 1 who amasses wealth, counting it over, 2 thinking that his wealth will make him live forever! 3 On the contrary! He shall be flung to the Crusher. 4 Would that you understood what that crushing torment is like. 5 A fire kindled by God, 6 to penetrate into the hearts. 7 Verily, it shall be closed in on them, 8 in outstretched columns. 9

True are the words of God the Almighty.
