Indeed this is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe; 192 brought down by the Faithful Spirit 193 To thy heart and mind, that thou mayest admonish. 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 This is (indicated) in the Books of earlier people. 196 Was it not a sign for them known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 If We had sent it down on a barbarian 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We inserted disbelief into the hearts of the criminals. 200 They will not believe in it until they suffer the painful torment. 201 It shall come unto them on a sudden, and they shall not perceive. 202 Then they will say: Are we to be reprieved? 203 Do they really want Our chastisement to be expedited? 204 Think! If We let them enjoy life for some years, 205 And afterwards comes to them that (punishment) which they had been promised! 206 Of what avail shall their enjoyment be to them? 207 Never a city We destroyed, but it had warners 208 For reminder, for We never were oppressors. 209 It was not the satans who brought it down: 210 They are not worthy of it, nor have they power. 211 Indeed they have been banished from the place of hearing. 212 Hence, [O man,] do not invoke any other deity side by side with God, lest thou find thyself among those who are made to suffer [on Judgment Day]. 213 And warn thou thy clan, the nearest ones. 214 And be kind to him who follows you of the believers. 215 And if they disobey thee, say thou: verily I am quit of that which ye work. 216 And rely upon (Allah) the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 217 Who watches you when you stand up. 218 and when thou turnest about among those who bow. 219 Surely He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing. 220 Shall I inform you (O people!) upon whom the Shayatin (devils) descend? 221 They descend upon every lying, sinful one, 222 Who give ear, and most of them are liars. 223 Poets are followed by the perverse. 224 hast thou not seen how they wander in every valley 225 And that they say what they do not do. 226 Save those who believe and do good works, and remember Allah much, and vindicate themselves after they have been wronged. Those who do wrong will come to know by what a (great) reverse they will be overturned! 227
