The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 And when the seas rise, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 And the night when it departs, 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
