The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Recite: In the Name of thy Lord who created, 1 Createth man from a clot. 2 Recite! Your Lord is the most Honorable One, 3 Who taught by the pen, 4 Taught man what he knew not. 5 By no means: Verily man exorbitateth. 6 because he thinks himself self-sufficient: 7 Surely to your Lord is your return. 8 Have you seen the one who forbids 9 a servant [of God] from praying? 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 or bade to godfearing -- 12 What is your opinion – if he denies and turns away, how wretched will be his state! 13 Does he, then, not know that God sees [all]? 14 No indeed; surely, if he gives not over, We shall seize him by the forelock, 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 Then, let him call (for help) to his council (of comrades): 17 We too shall summon the guards of Hell. 18 Nay, heed him not: But bow down in adoration, and bring thyself the closer (to Allah)! ۩ 19
Almighty Allah's Truth.
