The chiefs of Firon's people said: most surely this is an enchanter possessed of knowledge: 109 Who would expel you from your land. Now what do ye advise? 110 Others said: 'Put them off a while, he and his brother, and send forth to your cities gatherers 111 Who will bring you every learned magician." 112 And the sorcerers came to Pharaoh, saying, 'We shall surely have a wage, if we should be the victors?' 113 He said: Yes, and you shall certainly be of those who are near (to me). 114 They said, "O Moses, either you throw [your staff], or we will be the ones to throw [first]." 115 He said: cast ye. Then when they cast down, they enchanted the eyes of the people, and terrified them and brought mighty magic to bear. 116 Then We revealed to Moses: 'Now, throw down your staff' And thereupon it swallowed up their false invention. 117 ۞ Thus truth was confirmed, and all that they did was made of no effect. 118 Thus there and then they were vanquished and overthrown, humiliated. 119 And the enchanters were thrown down, prostrating (themselves). 120 They said, “We have accepted faith in the Lord Of The Creation.” 121 the Lord of Moses and Aaron!" 122 Fir'awn said: believed ye in him ere I have given you leave? Verily this is a plot ye have plotted in the city that ye may drive forth the people thereof. So presently ye shall know. 123 I will cut off your hands and feet on alternate sides and then crucify you all!" 124 They replied, "We shall surely return to our Lord. 125 "And you take vengeance on us only because we believed in the Ayat (proofs, evidences, lessons, signs, etc.) of our Lord when they reached us! Our Lord! pour out on us patience, and cause us to die as Muslims." 126
