And the dwellers of Al Hijr also belied the Messengers. 80 And We gave them Our signs, and they remained averse to them. 81 And they used to hew out dwellings from the hills, (wherein they dwelt) secure. 82 Then the shout took hold of them in the early morn. 83 Out of what they had gained, nothing proved to be of any benefit to them. 84 AND [remember:] We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them without [an inner] truth; but, behold, the Hour [when this will become clear to all] is indeed yet to come. Hence, forgive [men's failings] with fair forbearance: 85 Verify thy Lord! He is the Great Creator, the Knower. 86 And We have certainly given you, [O Muhammad], seven of the often repeated [verses] and the great Qur'an. 87 Do not direct your eyes towards the things We have given to some of their couples to enjoy, and do not at all grieve because of them, and take the Muslims within the folds of your mercy. 88 And proclaim, “Indeed I, yes I, am the clear Herald of Warning.” 89 As We have sent down on the dividers, (Quraish pagans or Jews and Christians). 90 Who have made the Qur'an into portions. 91 So by your Lord, We will surely question them all 92 For all their deeds. 93 Therefore declare openly what you are bidden and turn aside from the polytheists. 94 We suffice thee against the mockers, 95 who assert that there are, side by side with God, other divine powers as well: for in time they will come to know [the truth]. 96 We are well aware that you are disheartened by what they say. 97 Proclaim thy Lord's praise, and be of those that bow, 98 and worship your Lord until the last moment (of your life) that will most certainly come. 99
