And recite to them the story of Ibrahim (Abraham). 69 When he said unto his father and his folk: What worship ye? 70 They said, “We worship idols, and we keep squatting in seclusion before them.” 71 He said: hearken they unto you when ye cry? 72 Or do they benefit you, or do you harm?" 73 They said, “In fact we found our forefathers doing likewise.” 74 He said: "Have you considered what you have been worshipping, 75 and what your grandfathers worshipped 76 “They are all my enemies, except the Lord Of The Creation.” 77 “The One Who created me, so He will guide me.” 78 And He Who gives me to eat and gives me to drink: 79 He who cures me when I am ill; 80 "And Who will cause me to die, and then will bring me to life (again); 81 and He who will, I hope, forgive me my faults on the Day of the Judgement. 82 My Lord, give me judgment, and join me with the righteous. 83 Make my words come true in the future. 84 and make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss; 85 And forgive my father. Lo! he is of those who err. 86 Do not degrade me on the Day when they are resurrected. 87 The Day when there will not benefit [anyone] wealth or children 88 except what is done in obedience to God with a submissive heart. 89 And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous. 90 And Hell made visible to those who had gone astray. 91 It will be said to them: 'Where is that you worshipped, 92 “Instead of Allah? Will they help you or retaliate?” 93 And they will be pitched into it, they and the perverse 94 and the hosts of iblis all together. 95 And they will say while they dispute with one another, 96 “By oath of Allah, we were indeed in open error.” 97 When we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 “And none misled us but the guilty.” 99 "'Now, then, we have none to intercede (for us), 100 “Nor a caring friend.” 101 O that we might return again, and be among the believers!' 102 In this there is evidence (of the truth), but many of them do not have any faith. 103 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 104
