Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Alif, Lam, Meem. 1 These are Verses of the Wise Book,- 2 for a guidance and a mercy to the good-doers 3 Those who keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate and they are certain of the hereafter. 4 These are on (true) guidance from their Lord: and these are the ones who will prosper. 5 Some men there are who buy diverting talk to lead astray from the way of God without knowledge, and to take it in mockery; those -- there awaits them a humbling chastisement. 6 And when Our Verses (of the Quran) are recited to such a one, he turns away in pride, as if he heard them not, as if there were deafness in his ear. So announce to him a painful torment. 7 Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds - for them are the Gardens of Pleasure. 8 To dwell therein. The promise of Allah is true: and He is Exalted in Power, Wise. 9 He [it is who] has created the skies without any supports that you could see, and has placed firm mountains upon the earth, lest it sway with you, and has caused all manner of living creatures to multiply thereon. And We send down water from the skies, and thus We cause every noble kind [of life] to grow on earth. 10 this is God's creation. Show me then what those besides Him have created! The wrongdoers are in manifest error. 11
