We saved the Children of Israel from their humiliating torment 30 From Fir'aun (Pharaoh); Verily! He was arrogant and was of the Musrifun (those who transgress beyond bound in spending and other things and commit great sins). 31 And certainly We chose them, having knowledge, above the nations. 32 And We vouchsafed unto them signs wherein was a manifest favour. 33 Lo! these, forsooth, are saying: 34 there is nothing beyond our first death; we shall not be raised again. 35 Bring back our fathers, if ye speak the truth! 36 Are they better than the people of Tubba' and those who came before them? We destroyed them, because they were guilty of sin. 37 And We did not create the heavens and earth and that between them in play. 38 We did not create them save with a purpose, yet most people have no knowledge of this. 39 The Day of Decision is the appointed time for all. 40 (when wrong will be distinguished from right). On this day friends will be of no benefit to one another, nor will they receive any help 41 Save those on whom Allah shall have mercy; surely He is the Mighty the Merciful. 42
