۞ [The angels will be ordered], "Gather those who committed wrong, their kinds, and what they used to worship 22 instead of God, and lead them all onto the way to the blazing fire, 23 And detain them, for they will be questioned." 24 "'What is the matter with you that ye help not each other?'" 25 No, today they will resign themselves in submission, 26 And some of them inclined towards others, mutually questioning. 27 saying: 'You used to come to us from the right hand' 28 They shall say: Nay, you (yourselves) were not believers; 29 We had no power over you. In fact, you were a people rebellious. 30 But now our Lord's word has come true against us: truly, we are bound to taste [the punishment]. 31 For we had led you astray. In fact we ourselves were astray." 32 So indeed they, that Day, will be sharing in the punishment. 33 Even so We do with the sinners; 34 For they, when they were told that there is no god except Allah, would puff themselves up with Pride, 35 And were saying, "Are we to leave our gods for a mad poet?" 36 Nay, but he [whom you call a mad poet] has brought the truth; and he confirms the truth of [what the earlier of God's] message-bearers [have taught]. 37 Ye shall indeed taste of the Grievous Penalty;- 38 But it will be no more than the retribution of (the Evil) that ye have wrought;- 39 But for the sincere worshipers of Allah, 40 Those! theirs shall be a provision known: 41 a variety of delicious fruits; and they shall be honoured 42 (They will live) in the bountiful gardens, 43 On couches facing one another; 44 a cup from a spring being passed round to them, 45 Clear, delicious to drink, 46 There shall be no trouble in it, nor shall they be exhausted therewith. 47 They will have with them loving wives with big black and white eyes 48 [as free of faults] as if they were hidden [ostrich] eggs. 49 Then they will advance unto each other, mutually questioning. 50 And a speaker from among them will say: verily there was unto me a mate. 51 Who said: What! are you indeed of those who accept (the truth)? 52 What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then be certainly brought to judgment? 53 He says, 'Are you looking down?' 54 Then he will look and see him in the midst of the Fire. 55 'By God', he said, 'you had almost ruined me. 56 But for my Lord's blessing, I were one of the arraigned. 57 Is it then that we are not going to die, 58 except for our first death? Are we not going to be punished? 59 Truly, this is a great victory!" 60 For the like of it should the workers work. 61 Is this not a better reward than the tree of Zaqqum 62 Truly We have made it (as) a trail for the Zalimun (polytheists, disbelievers, wrong-doers, etc.). 63 Indeed it is a tree that sprouts from the base of hell. 64 its spathes are like the heads of satans 65 (The people of Hell) will surely eat of it, filling their bellies with it. 66 Then on the top of that they will be given boiling water to drink so that it becomes a mixture (of boiling water and Zaqqum in their bellies). 67 Then shall their return be to the (Blazing) Fire. 68 They indeed found their fathers astray, 69 So they hastily follow their footsteps! 70 And indeed most of the men of old went astray before them; 71 And We had sent admonishers to them. 72 Then see how was the end of those warned, 73 Only Our sincere servants were saved. 74
