Commemorate Our Servant Job. Behold he cried to his Lord: "The Evil One has afflicted me with distress and suffering!" 41 (And it was said unto him): Strike the ground with thy foot. This (spring) is a cool bath and a refreshing drink. 42 And We bestowed upon him new offspring, doubling their number as an act of grace from Us, and as a reminder unto all who are endowed with insight. 43 (and We said to him): “Take in your hand a bundle of rushes and strike with it, and do not break your oath.” Indeed We found him steadfast. How excellent a servant (of Ours) he was. Indeed he constantly turned (to his Lord). 44 And remember Our slaves, Ibrahim (Abraham), Ishaque (Isaac), and Ya'qub (Jacob), (all) owners of strength (in worshipping Us) and (also) of religious understanding. 45 Verily We exalted them in consideration of a sterling quality: their remembrance of the Abode of the Hereafter. 46 And behold, in Our sight they were indeed among the elect, the truly good! 47 And remember Ismail and Yasa’a (Elisha) and Zul-Kifl; and they are all excellent. 48 This is an advice; and indeed for the pious is an excellent abode. 49 Everlasting Gardens – all its gates are open for them. 50 Where they will take their ease, calling for fruits in plenty, and for wine, 51 ۞ with them, they will have pure, modest women of an equal age. 52 This it is what you (Al-Muttaqun - the pious) are promised for the Day of Reckoning! 53 this is Our unending provision' 54 This (for the virtuous); but for the transgressors the evil destination, 55 Hell; they shall enter it, so evil is the resting-place. 56 All of this; so let them taste it, boiling water and pus, 57 And other torments, like thereof, conjoined. 58 Here is a multitude rushing headlong with you. There is no welcome for them. They will roast in the fire. 59 The followers will say, “In fact, for you! May you not get open space! It is you who brought this calamity upon us!” So what a wretched destination. 60 They say: Our Lord! Whoever did prepare this for us, oh, give him double portion of the Fire! 61 And they will add: "How is it that we do not see [here any of the] men whom we were wont to count among the wicked, 62 "Did we treat them (as such) in ridicule, or have (our) eyes failed to perceive them?" 63 Surely that is true -- the disputing of the inhabitants of the Fire. 64
