(O Prophet), did you see him who turned away (from the Path of Allah), 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Or, has he not been told of that which is in the Scrolls of Moses 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?- 37 That no laden one shall bear another's load, 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 And that his striving shall soon be seen- 40 And only then will he receive his recompense in full; 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 From Nutfah (drops of semen male and female discharges) when it is emitted; 46 And that He hath ordained the second bringing forth; 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 and before them the nation of Noah, they exceeded in evil and were insolent. 52 and He overthrew the subverted cities [of Sodom and Gomorrah] 53 So there covered them that which covered. 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Hour that was to come draws ever nearer. 57 None but God can avert it. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 And you laugh, and do not weep! 60 And ye are behaving proudly. 61 So prostrate yourselves before God and worship him. ۩ 62
