So did you observe him who turned away? 33 Who gives but little, and is niggardly? 34 Has he knowledge of the unseen, so that he sees? 35 Or has he not been told of what is in the scrolls of Moses, 36 And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] - 37 Certainly no one will bear the responsibility of the sins of another, 38 And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for- 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 It is He who causes laughter and weeping. 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 From a drop of semen when emitted; 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 It is He who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 And destroyed the tribe of Thamud, not sparing anyone? 51 And before them, the people of Nooh? Indeed they were more unjust and more rebellious than these! 52 and the Subverted City He also overthrew, 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 that [Last Hour] which is so near draws ever nearer, 57 There is no one to unveil it apart from God. 58 Marvel ye then at this statement, 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62
