Surely warners came to the people of Pharaoh. 41 The (people) rejected all Our Signs; but We seized them with such Penalty (as comes) from One Exalted in Power, able to carry out His Will. 42 Are your people who deny the truth better than those? Or have you been given immunity in the Scriptures? 43 Or do they say: "We are a well-accoutred army?" 44 The group will soon be routed, and will turn their backs to flee. 45 Nay, but the Hour (of doom) is their appointed tryst, and the Hour will be more wretched and more bitter (than their earthly failure). 46 Verily the culprits shall be in great error and madness. 47 On the Day whereon they shall be dragged into the Fire upon their faces, it shall be said unto them: taste the touch of the Scorching. 48 We have created everything in due measure; 49 We command but once: Our will is done in the twinkling of an eye; 50 We did indeed destroy many like you. Is there, then, any who will heed? 51 And every thing they did is in the scriptures, 52 And every small and great thing is recorded. 53 [Hence, too,] behold, the God-conscious will find themselves in [a paradise of] gardens and running waters, 54 in a seat of truth, in the presence of a Sovereign who determines all things. 55
