۞ The Reality! 1 What is the Inevitable Reality? 2 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the reality is! 3 Thamud and 'Ad people denied the Qari'ah [the striking Hour (of Judgement)]! 4 The Thamuds were destroyed by a violent blast of sound. 5 as for Aad, they were destroyed by a howling, violent wind 6 Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. 7 Do you see any trace of them? 8 And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities with sin. 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity]. 10 Indeed when the water swelled up, We boarded you onto the ship. 11 That We might make it a remembrance for you, and the keen ear (person) may (hear and) understand it. 12 So when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,- 14 Then on that Day shall the (Great) Event befall, 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that day it will be frail. 16 and the angels shall stand upon its borders, and upon that day eight shall carry above them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 You will then be set before Him, and not one of you will remain unexposed. 18 So whoever is given his book in his right hand – he will say, “Take, read my account!” 19 Verily I was sure that I would be handed over my account.” 20 Then he will be in blissful state 21 In a high garden 22 The fruit clusters of which are hanging down. 23 [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth in the days past." 24 But as for him who is given his record in his left hand, he will say: Oh, would that I had not been given my book 25 Nor known whatever was my reckoning! 26 Would that death had taken us away for good. 27 Of no avail to me is all that I have [ever] possessed, 28 and our belief has destroyed us". 29 (The stern command will say): "Seize ye him, and bind ye him, 30 then throw them into hell to be heated up therein. 31 Then fasten him with a chain seventy cubits long: 32 He did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 and did not feel any urge to feed the needy: 34 "So no friend hath he here this Day. 35 Nor food other than suppuration (filth) 36 “Which none except the guilty shall eat.” 37
