Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Inevitable Hour! 1 What is the Inevitable? 2 What makes you to know what the Resurrection Verifier is? 3 Thamud and 'Ad people denied the Qari'ah [the striking Hour (of Judgement)]! 4 So regarding the Thamud, they were destroyed by a terrible scream. 5 as for Aad, they were destroyed by a howling, violent wind 6 Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. 7 Can you see any of their survivors? 8 And Firaun, and those before him, and the dwellings that were inverted and thrown, had brought error. 9 And they disobeyed the Apostle of their Lord, so He punished them with a vehement punishment. 10 When the flood rose high and covered the whole land, We carried you in the Ark. 11 that We might make it a reminder for you and for heeding ears to hold. 12 Then when the Trumpet will be blown with one blowing (the first one), 13 the earth and mountains will be raised up high and crushed all together. 14 on that Day shall that indubitable event come to pass; 15 And the heaven shall be rent in sunder, it on that Day shall be frail. 16 And the angels shall be on the borders thereof; and on that Day eight shall bear over them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 The Day whereon ye shall be mustered nothing hidden by you shall be hidden. 18 Then as to him who will be vouchsafed his book in his right hand, he shall say: here! read my book! 19 Indeed, I knew that I should come to my reckoning' 20 So he shall be in a life, well-pleasing. 21 in a lofty garden, 22 Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. 23 Eat and drink at ease for that which you have sent on before you in days past! 24 But as for him who is given his book in his left hand, he shall say, 'Would that I had not been given my book 25 and had not known my account. 26 Oh, would that it had been death! 27 "My wealth has not availed me, 28 "My power and arguments (to defend myself) have gone from me!" 29 [Allah will say], "Seize him and shackle him. 30 And then expose him to hell-fire 31 then in a chain seventy arm's lengths long insert him. 32 Lo! He used not to believe in Allah the Tremendous, 33 and he never urged the feeding of the needy; 34 Therefor hath he no lover here this day, 35 Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; 36 which none but the sinners eat!" 37
