By the moon, 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 And the dawn when it shineth forth, 34 Lo! this is one of the greatest (portents) 35 as a warner to mortals. 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 except those of the right hand 39 In Gardens; they shall be asking, 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They will say: "We were not of those who used to offer their Salat (prayers) 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 "And we used to talk falsehood (all that which Allah hated) with vain talkers. 45 "And used to deny the Day of Justice." 46 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." 47 So the intercession of intercessors shall not avail them. 48 Then what is wrong with them that they turn away from admonition, 49 like frightened donkeys 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Indeed, each one of them desires to be given unrolled scrolls. 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 No, indeed, surely, this is a Reminder. 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
