Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
