The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 And those who govern the event, 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
