The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 And when the stars fall, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 And the night when it departs, 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
