The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
182 verses, revealed in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by (the angels) who stand in ranks, 1 by those who reprove severely, 2 And those who recite the Reminder, 3 Most surely your Allah is One: 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth and all between them, and Lord of every point at the rising of the sun! 5 We have indeed decked the lower heaven with beauty (in) the stars,- 6 a protection against every rebel satan; 7 They cannot listen to the speech of those on higher elevations and they are targeted from every side. 8 and are repelled. Theirs is an unceasing chastisement. 9 Except such as snatch away something by stealth, and they are pursued by a flaming fire, of piercing brightness. 10 So ask them, are they stronger in constitution, or those whom We have created. We have created them of sticky clay. 11 Aye! thou marvellest, and they scoff. 12 When they are reminded, they do not remember. 13 and when they become aware of a [divine] message, they turn it to ridicule 14 And they say: this Qur'an is naught but magic manifest. 15 What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then certainly be raised, 16 And our forefathers? 17 Say: 'Yes, and in all lowliness.' 18 It shall be but one shout, lo! they shall be staring. 19 They will say, "Ah! Woe to us! This is the Day of Judgment!" 20 “This is the Day of Judgement, which you used to deny!” 21
