The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 And when souls are united, 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
