Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 On that day the faces of some people will be humbly cast down, 2 troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. 3 about to enter a glowing fire, 4 and will be made to drink from a fiercely boiling spring. 5 They will have no food other than bitter and thorny fruit 6 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. 7 On that very Day some faces shall be radiant with joy, 8 Glad for their effort past, 9 in a Garden on high, 10 where they will hear no idle talk. 11 There is a stream of running water in it; 12 [and] there will be thrones [of happiness] raised high, 13 And chosen goblets. 14 and arranged cushions 15 And carpets spread around. 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 And the mountains – how they have been established? 19 And the earth – how it has been spread out? 20 Then remind them! Thou art only a reminder; 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 But whoever turns back and disbelieves, 23 God shall chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account. 26
